Part 2

Just as the man pulls the frightened girl to safety…

Police sirens suddenly fill the street.

Two officers jump out of their cars and rush toward them.

“Step away from the girl! Hands where we can see them!”

The crowd immediately points at the man.

“That’s him!”

“He’s the one who grabbed her!”

The girl is crying.

The man says nothing.

He slowly raises his hands.

For a moment, it looks like he’s about to be arrested.

Then one officer notices something strange.

A knife lying on the ground.

A torn backpack.

And security cameras pointing directly at the scene.

Minutes later, the footage is reviewed.

The truth shocks everyone.

The man wasn’t kidnapping the girl.

He had actually saved her from a dangerous attacker who tried to drag her into a van just moments earlier.

While everyone else stood frozen…

He was the only person who ran toward the danger.

The crowd falls silent.

One by one, people lower their phones.

The officer walks over to the man and says,

“Sir… we’re sorry.”

But the man only looks at the little girl.

She runs into his arms and whispers,

“Thank you for saving me.”

And in that moment…

Everyone realizes how close they came to punishing a hero.
