Philadelphia – The Eagles may be preparing for a familiar reunion in the trenches as reports continue to link a former Philadelphia offensive lineman back to the team ahead of the 2026 season.
After dealing with offensive line injuries and depth concerns throughout last year, Philadelphia’s front office is once again exploring ways to reinforce one of the most important units on the roster.
And one name that continues gaining momentum behind the scenes is drawing major attention around Eagles Nation.
According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, early discussions have already taken place between the Eagles and Mekhi Becton’s camp, with both sides reportedly open to a reunion after his difficult stint with the Chargers.
More importantly, sources say Becton himself strongly wants to return to Philadelphia.
The massive lineman reportedly believes the Eagles gave him the best environment of his NFL career and helped restore both his confidence and reputation after difficult years battling injuries earlier in his journey.

During his previous run in Philadelphia, Becton revitalized his career by winning the starting right guard job and becoming an important piece of the Eagles’ championship-caliber offensive line.
His physicality, size, and versatility quickly made him a fan favorite inside Eagles Nation.
After leaving for Los Angeles on a larger contract, things reportedly never felt the same. Injuries and inconsistency slowed his momentum, and the Chargers eventually moved on this offseason.
Now, the possibility of returning to the city where his career was reborn is becoming increasingly realistic.
One source close to the situation described Becton as “extremely motivated” to prove he still belongs among the NFL’s top offensive linemen.
Becton himself reportedly delivered a strong message during conversations about a possible return.
“Philly changed my career. That locker room, those fans, that culture… it brought the best out of me. If I get the chance to wear midnight green again, I’m coming back with unfinished business.”
The Eagles are still evaluating multiple offensive line options, but bringing back a player already familiar with Jeff Stoutland’s system could be viewed as a low-risk move with major upside.
For Eagles fans, the idea of seeing Becton back protecting Jalen Hurts is suddenly starting to feel very possible.
