Emotions are running high ahead of Sunday’s matchup as San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has fired back at Tennessee Titans star Jeffery Simmons, following a viral social media post in which Simmons mocked and insulted 49ers fans.

The post, made late Sunday night, spread rapidly before Simmons deleted it moments later, but not before screenshots circulated across X, sparking heated debate between Titans and 49ers fans. When asked about the controversy after Monday’s walkthrough, Purdy didn’t hold back — defending his team, the fanbase, and the city that rides with him every week.

“They can talk, they can disrespect our fans all they want, but on Sunday, they’ll feel the storm we bring,”

Purdy said sharply. “I play for the people who believe in San Francisco, and I’ll make sure Tennessee feels every ounce of that pride.”

Purdy’s fiery response instantly went viral, drawing admiration from teammates and fans who praised the young quarterback’s leadership and unwavering confidence heading into a nationally spotlighted matchup.

As for Simmons, he has yet to comment publicly since deleting the post, but the message has already intensified a game that was already filled with storylines and playoff pressure.
