The Philadelphia Eagles may have pulled off another major defensive addition just when many believed their offseason spending spree had come to an end.
According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the front office has quietly reached an agreement with a proven championship veteran.
After reinforcing several positions this offseason, Philadelphia continues searching for experienced leaders capable of helping the team make another Super Bowl run.
The latest move signals that Howie Roseman still isn’t satisfied with the current roster.
The plan appears straightforward: surround emerging defensive star Zack Baun with another veteran who understands championship football, brings consistent production, and can immediately elevate one of the NFL’s most dangerous defenses heading into the 2026 season.
That player is Leonard Floyd, the Super Bowl-winning linebacker and longtime NFL pass rusher. Per ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Eagles have successfully agreed to terms with the veteran, bringing another experienced defender to Philadelphia.
Throughout his NFL career, Floyd has established himself as one of the league’s most reliable edge defenders, recording more than 65 career sacks, multiple double-digit sack seasons, hundreds of tackles, and helping the Los Angeles Rams capture Super Bowl LVI.
Philadelphia believes pairing Floyd alongside Zack Baun could create one of the NFC’s most balanced linebacker combinations. Baun provides explosiveness and versatility, while Floyd offers leadership, experience, and a proven ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks.
The addition also gives defensive coordinator Vic Fangio another veteran capable of rotating across multiple defensive packages. His postseason experience and consistency could prove invaluable for a roster built to compete for another championship.
At this time, the financial details and full structure of the agreement have not yet been disclosed, and neither side has officially announced the signing despite reports that a deal has been reached.
Sources indicate the transaction is currently pending a routine medical examination, with Leonard Floyd undergoing final physical evaluations before both sides complete the paperwork and officially finalize the contract.
