Two men were killed and another individual was hospitalized following a triple shooting on New Year’s Day in Philadelphia, authorities confirmed Thursday.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 7100 block of Oakland Street at approximately 11:13 a.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The incident triggered an immediate emergency response and remains under active investigation.

When officers arrived at the scene, one man was transported by police to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead at 11:55 a.m. A second victim was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle and was pronounced dead at 11:52 a.m., police said.

A third man was also rushed to a nearby hospital by private vehicle. At the time of the initial police report, his condition was listed as unknown.
