Travis Kelce Opens Up About His Brutal Game Against the Texans.NO.1

After a decade, the Kansas City Chiefs‘ streak consecutive playoff appearances seems to be coming to an end after the team was unable to come out on top against the Houston Texans last week.

Patrick Mahomes and company have been mathmatically eliminated from winning the AFC West division title for the first time in nine years. Even though it will be incredibly tough for the storied franchise to make the NFL playoffs, they are not out of contention for a spot in the postseason just yet.

However, the loss to the Texans definitely took it’s toll, especially on superstar tight end Travis Kelce, who dropped a pass late in the game, which sealed the deal for Houston.

Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Reflects on Costly Loss to the Texans

On his New Heights podcast, Kelce reflected on the loss to the Texans and how making the playoffs this season is a longshot. The three-time Super Bowl champion expressed his guilt for dropping the pass the pass late in the game, which could’ve helped change the outcome.

“Obviously, looking at the playoffs, this is a tough reality to be in,” Kelce said. “It’s a [expletive] [expletive] feeling, especially dropping the [expletive] ball late in the game like that when we were on our last [expletive] chance to make something shake. It’s a [expletive] feeling, man. You put in all this work to be there for your guys, and I just wasn’t that.”

It seems that Kelce is trying to come to terms with the possibility of not making the playoffs or having a chance to compete for a Super Bowl title after making deep runs in the postseason on an annual basis.

“It’s been a tough [expletive] go-around in the last two days. You put in all this [expletive] work and hope that it pays off and right now, it just, for whatever [expletive] reason, it’s little things, it’s discipline,” Kelce said. “I feel like I’ve always had the answers in years past and this year I just can’t find them. I keep thinking if I show up to work and I put in the work and I fix the issues through my practice habits and through perfecting the game plan and my fundamentals and what I’m being taught, and go out there and try and play my ass off for my guys next to me, it’s all going to come together like it has in years past. This year, it’s just not, man.”

Chris Jones Sends Bold Message on Patrick Mahomes

In the final four games of the regular season, the Chiefs will face a couple formidable opponents, namely the Los Angeles Chargers (Week 15) and Denver Broncos (Week 17).

Even with long odds to make the playoffs this season, Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones‘ confidence isn’t wavering, as he believes Kansas City always has a chance with Mahomes under center.

“We got Pat Mahomes, right? Let’s be honest here, we always have a chance.”

“Listen, we got Pat Mahomes, man,” Jones continued. “Let’s be honest here, we always have a chance. Ya’ll have a good day.”

It’ll be interesting to see how the Chiefs handle the rest of the season and whether this team will be a force to be reckoned with if they are able to sneak into the postseason.
