In a heartfelt announcement, Lamb revealed the launch of “Frozen Tails,” a $5 million sanctuary dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming stray cats across Texas. Located just outside of Dallas, the sprawling facility will serve as both a refuge and a long-term solution to one of the state’s growing humanitarian concerns — the surge in abandoned and neglected felines.
“Too many cats are left out in the cold with no care and no hope,” Lamb said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “They deserve protection, healing, and a real chance at family. That’s what ‘Frozen Tails’ is all about — giving them that second chance.”
The sanctuary, designed in collaboration with veterinary experts and animal behaviorists, will offer a wide range of services. From climate-controlled housing that shields animals from Texas’ extreme weather conditions, to round-the-clock veterinary care ensuring every rescued cat receives the medical attention it needs — “Frozen Tails” aims to set a new standard for animal welfare infrastructure in the state.
A central focus of the initiative is the large-scale spay-and-neuter program, which Lamb hopes will reduce the number of homeless animals in the long term. “We can’t just treat the symptoms,” he said. “We have to go to the root of the problem — overpopulation.”
The sanctuary will also feature enrichment areas where cats can safely roam, play, and socialize, helping them rebuild trust in humans after suffering neglect or abuse. Each animal will undergo a personalized recovery and socialization plan before being placed for adoption.
