BREAKING: Chiefs OC Matt Nagy Finally Speaks Out — But What He Revealed About His Future Could Shake Travis Kelce and the Entire Season

Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy has broken his silence on rumors linking him to the Titans head coaching job – saying ‘the time’s not now’ to consider another role.

Matt Nagy is in his second stint as offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs

After beginning the season 0-2, Kansas City is now 3-3 with the offense rounding into form the last few weeks.

But the Titans’ firing of Brian Callahan has led to Nagy – the former head coach of the Bears – being mentioned as a possibility for the Tennessee job.

And while Nagy hasn’t ruled out ultimately moving to Tennessee, he’s focused on Kansas City for now.

‘It’s only fair to your peers, your players … to stay true to them,’ he said, via the Kansas City Star. ‘You stand in the moment.’

Of the possibility of considering another job, he added: ‘you look forward to it. But the time’s not right now. I love coming here, being with these guys every day. It’s just awesome.’

Nagy, 47, returned to the Chiefs in 2022 after being fired by the Bears, with whom he posted a 34-31 record over four seasons.

He previously served as the Chiefs’ quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator from 2013-17.

With the help of Nagy (who does not call plays for the Chiefs), Kansas City’s offense has shown signs of life the past three weeks, as the team has averaged more than 31 points in contests against the Ravens, Jaguars and Lions.

Travis Kelce also had his best game of the season against Detroit as he caught six passes for 78 yards.

On Thursday, Ian Rapoport reported on Prime Video that Nagy was one of several ‘names to watch’ for the Titans role.

Rapoport also mentioned Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur smith, Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and former Packers and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy as other possibilities.

For now, the Titans (1-5) will be led by interim head coach Mike McCoy as they host the Patriots on Sunday.

Kansas City, meanwhile, will look to get above .500 for the first time this season when they face the Raiders this weekend.
