But even through the setbacks, veteran Trent Williams insists that the 49ers’ spirit remains unbroken.
“INJURIES CAN TAKE OUR PLAYERS, BUT THEY CAN’T TAKE OUR PRIDE,” the left tackle said. “WE’RE HURTING, YEAH — BUT WE’RE STILL HERE, STILL STANDING, STILL FIGHTING.”
The 49ers now face the daunting task of marching into Week 10 without their top pass rushers. What began as a season of promise has turned into a battle of survival — and yet, hope stubbornly lingers inside that red and gold locker room.
