Part 2: The Forgotten Daughter! phunhoang

The ballroom erupted into chaos.

Guests whispered.

Reporters rushed closer.

Phones captured every moment.

Sophia held up the document with shaking hands.

“It is my birth certificate.”

The room fell silent.

Eleanor Hawthorne closed her eyes.

She already knew the truth.

Sophia continued.

“Twenty years ago, there was a fire at the family estate.”

Tears streamed down her face.

“Everyone believed I died that night.”

Isabella looked between Sophia and her mother.

“Mom… tell me she’s lying.”

Eleanor began crying.

But she couldn’t.

Because Sophia wasn’t lying.

The fire had happened.

Sophia had survived.

A groundskeeper had rescued her from the flames and secretly raised her after discovering evidence of a terrible crime.

For years, Eleanor had hidden the truth.

Not because Sophia was dead.

But because Sophia’s existence threatened the inheritance of the Hawthorne fortune.

Sophia had been the firstborn child.

The rightful heir.

The ballroom became completely silent.

Isabella felt as though the floor had disappeared beneath her feet.

Everything she believed about her life was suddenly uncertain.

Then Sophia stepped closer.

Everyone expected anger.

Revenge.

Hatred.

Instead, Sophia’s voice broke.

“I didn’t come here for the money.”

A tear slid down her cheek.

“I came because I wanted my family.”

The words hit Isabella harder than anything else.

Sophia looked around the room.

“I spent twenty years wondering why nobody came looking for me.”

Guests wiped away tears.

Even reporters lowered their cameras.

Sophia turned toward Eleanor.

“Was I really that easy to forget?”

The older woman collapsed into tears.

“No.”

Her voice cracked.

“Not a single day.”

Slowly, Eleanor walked forward.

Then she wrapped her arms around Sophia.

For a moment, neither woman spoke.

The entire ballroom watched them cry.

Years of pain.

Years of regret.

Years of unanswered questions.

Finally, Isabella stepped forward.

Her eyes filled with tears.

She looked at the sister she never knew she had.

Then she hugged her too.

The crowd began applauding.

Not for the fortune.

Not for the scandal.

But for a family finally finding its way back to each other.

And for the first time in twenty years…

Sophia Hawthorne was finally home.
