The NFL is reportedly considering disciplinary action against Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton after a series of controversial sideline incidents during Sunday’s game that drew widespread criticism from league officials and media alike. Multiple sources have confirmed that the NFL’s competition committee is currently reviewing footage showing Payton aggressively confronting referees, verbally clashing with opposing coaches, and allegedly entering the field of play during a live drive.
According to the official game report, the altercation began late in the third quarter after a questionable defensive holding call against Denver nullified a potential turnover. Cameras captured Payton storming several yards past the sideline, shouting at officials while players attempted to calm him down. One referee was reportedly heard warning him to “step back or face an ejection.”
