BREAKING: 49ers Star Tight End Plans Triumphant Return vs. Falcons After Shocking Hamstring Tear.susu

49ers updates: George Kittle returns, but there's still a long list of injuries | 49ers Webzone

The San Francisco 49ers may finally have a reason to smile. After weeks of brutal injuries, their emotional heartbeat could be back on the field under the bright lights of Sunday Night Football.

The Faithful have waited patiently since Week 1, and now, hope is returning to Levi’s Stadium. The man who brings energy, leadership, and fire to the locker room is ready to strap his helmet back on.

That man is George Kittle — the six-time Pro Bowl tight end who told reporters Thursday he plans to play against the Atlanta Falcons after recovering from a torn right hamstring.

49ers expect George Kittle to return from injury in Week 7 game vs. Falcons

“I just felt like a rubber band snapped in my hamstring,” Kittle said. “But hopefully, I’m out there — which I think I will be.”

Kittle had been sidelined since the opener, when the 49ers placed him on injured reserve. Though he described the tear as “fully torn,” he was fortunate it didn’t detach from the bone. Now, after limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday, his comeback window is wide open.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan will have the final say, but Kittle’s confidence suggests fans might see No. 85 sprinting through the middle of the field once again.

In his absence, tight end Jake Tonges filled in admirably, hauling in 25 catches for 224 yards and three touchdowns — including the game-winner in Week 1 against Seattle.

Kittle’s return would be massive for a 49ers squad decimated by injuries to stars like Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, Brock Purdy, and Brandon Aiyuk. Despite the setbacks, San Francisco (4–2) remains tied atop the NFC West and very much in the playoff picture.

The Faithful can only hope this Sunday night marks the return of the team’s soul — and a spark for a second-half surge toward the Super Bowl dream.
