Roster moves by the Houston Texans on Tuesday took an unexpected turn off the field just hours later. According to multiple local reports, veteran safety K’Von Wallace was arrested in downtown Houston late Tuesday night following an alleged incident involving public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Sources indicate the incident occurred shortly after Wallace learned of a roster decision earlier that day. Witnesses at the scene described Wallace as visibly distressed and appearing to be under the influence in a public area near a busy downtown district. Police were called after a verbal altercation reportedly escalated and drew attention from bystanders.

Officers arrived at approximately 9:45 p.m. CST, where Wallace was taken into custody without any reported injuries. Authorities confirmed that no civilians or officers were harmed during the incident. Formal charges were later filed, and the matter remains under review.
Wallace, 28, had only recently joined the Texans and had not yet seen significant game action this season. A former Super Bowl champion known for his physical style of play and veteran presence, Wallace’s situation came as a surprise to many within the organization.
The Texans released a statement through head coach DeMeco Ryans, emphasizing concern, support, and perspective:
“This is a difficult situation. Although he has not played much this season, we brought him to Houston. As soon as we learned of the incident, the entire team immediately reached out to provide support — both legal and emotional. We are here to help him get through this challenging time. Wallace was booked overnight and later released on bail early Wednesday morning. He is expected to appear in court later this month as the investigation continues.
