Tony Romo says what NFL is terrified to admit about Cowboys after huge Chiefs win.susu

It wasn’t easy, but the Dallas Cowboys took down Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs by a final score of 31-28 in a thrilling game on Thanksgiving.

Dallas was in complete control after going up 31-21 with under five minutes left in regulation, but Mahomes went full Mahomes and made Dak Prescott put the game on ice. With potentially the Cowboys’ season on the line, Prescott came through, finding George Pickens on 3rd-and-2 right before the two-minute warning to pick up a first down with Kansas City already out of timeouts. A couple of Prescott kneel-downs later, and the game was over.

It’s OK to admit that the Cowboys are for real, even if they’re 6-5-1 record suggests otherwise. On the call for CBS, Tony Romo believes that without a shadow of a doubt … though the former Cowboys quarterback went a step further.

“I’ll tell you right now, Dallas just beat two teams that were in the Super Bowl last year,” Romo said. “And now there’s a real possibility. At the Lions is gonna be the toughest game left. They can run the table.”

Winning in the NFL is not easy, and the Cowboys have already won three games in a row to get over .500 for the first time this season.

However, this team is peaking at the right time, and they just beat the Eagles and Chiefs — widely regarded as the class of the NFL — in a span of four days. It’s not crazy to think they can run the table over the remaining five games.

As Romo said, Dallas gets the Lions in Detroit next Thursday. That will be their toughest test, but they don’t resemble anything close to the team that went 15-2 last year. And, for what it’s worth, Lions star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered an ankle injury in Detroit’s Thanksgiving loss that’s expected to keep him out for at least a week.

After that, the Cowboys will face the Minnesota Vikings (at home), who are really talented but have been handicapped by arguably the worst quarterback play in the NFL this season. From there, Dallas hosts the Los Angeles Chargers, who are down both starting offensive tackles. They will finish up in Washington and then in New York to play the Giants.

It’s easy to paint the picture of Dallas running the table. The defense mustered together four straight stops (against Patrick Mahomes!) between the second and third quarters. It is suddenly a group playing with a lot of confidence, and we know the offense is going to be great regardless of the opponent.

It took almost two months, but the Cowboys are a complete football team. They might not make the playoffs when all is said and done, but you can guarantee that nobody will want to play them if they get in.
