Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin SNAPS at Reporter Over Aaron Rodgers’ Struggles — Post-Game Exchange Turns Into Explosive Showdown That Leaves the Entire Press Room in Absolute Silence ⚡.abc

The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered an absolutely embarrassing loss on Sunday night as the group fell to the Los Angeles Chargers by a score of 25-10. A garbage time touchdown from second-year wide receiver Roman Wilson made the game seem closer than it was as the Steelers were truly dominated throughout the entire night, especially on the offensive side of the ball. The defense put up a good fight, but the offense could not hold up its end of the bargain as the group failed to find the end zone until the game was far out of hand.

The offense as a whole was atrocious for the Steelers outside of a few splash plays from running back Jaylen Warren, but a big issue was quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He seemed off throughout the entire night and the veteran never quite got comfortable.

He had a number of misses that were clearly just bad balls, and a horrible interception in the first half really blew the game open for the Chargers as it led to their first touchdown of the game. Head Coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media following the loss, and he was asked about his quarterback’s performance.

Rodgers certainly had the worst game of his Pittsburgh career against the Chargers. The quarterback finished the contest with 161 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions while barely completing 50 percent of his passes. One of the interceptions was not his fault as the ball flew off the hands of Calvin Austin III, but the other was a horrific ball over the middle that was too high for DK Metcalf.

Steelers' Aaron Rodgers

Tomlin didn’t seem to want to say anything negative about his quarterback, and he thought it was quite obvious that everyone knew Rodgers did not play up to the standard that was expected. The head coach had an attitude with the media throughout the rest of the press conference, which is completely fair considering the tough loss. This was the second time Tomlin was asked about Rodgers’ performance, and he had stated before that he would let the veteran speak for himself.

It is known that more is expected of Rodgers, and he surely demands more from himself. This should not be a snowball effect where the bad performances pile on top of one another. He is a well experienced veteran with a laundry list of accolades. He knows how to bounce back after a tough performance, and that is something he will look to do in Week 11 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Pittsburgh could also do more to help Rodgers. The run game needs to get going earlier on in games, and that should make things easier when it comes to pass protection as the defense won’t have the benefit of being able to tee off on their pass rushes because the offense is behind the chains. The Steelers also struggle to get enough separation, which could be hard for a quarterback.

Steelers’ Mike Tomlin Can Certainly Help Aaron Rodgers

The players on Pittsburgh’s roster that has done the best job at consistently getting decent separation is Wilson. The second-year wide receiver has seen limited opportunities, but he has made some big plays.

He scored his second touchdown of the season on Sunday night, and the coaching staff needs to consider getting him more opportunities and moving him around formations. He should be getting at least some of Austin’s snaps by now, and that is something that could make Rodgers’ life easier in the backfield as he tries to find somewhere to put the football.
